meetspaceVRJunior Game Creators has helped thousands of students nurture an interest in computer science for over four years. JGC is a school holiday club where your kids get to discover and practice some mind blowing tricks of computer science. They learn how to use code to make characters come alive, make sounds, play music, add controls and even keep score.

Your budding game creators are encouraged to explore. Every day is different as the only limit is  their imagination. If you have been to one of our clubs before then they will simply work on more complex projects that they are interested in. All whilst under the guidance of one of our experienced facilitators.

This is not a watch the demo type workshop, it is hands on and they can proceed at their own pace.

This course is sponsored by meetspaceVR. Anyone that qualifies for free school meals can go free.

Just use the code “meetspacevr” to gain a bursary place on behalf of meetspaceVR.

There are 3 bursary places available on each day. We are working on an honesty system, if you can afford to pay then please do not use one of the bursary places, thank you. If you can book below there are still spaces left.

Daily Activities

Each day has fun games, challenges and problems to solve. Those with more experience are challenged to work on their own projects or fall back on the structured challenges if they prefer. Anyone between 8 and 11 is welcome and will find the projects both interesting and engaging. During the day they will be building a library of code that they can use back at home to make their own games, just like real coders.

There is no better way to develop the correct foundations and mindset for coding than challenging students to make their own games. The interest and knowledge allows them to problem solve and be creative. You’ll be amazed at what they create.

Booking

Booking is on first come first served basis and our workshops are usually over subscribed. A waiting list is maintained and priority given to the waiting list should someone cancel.

P.S. Act quick, spaces are limited!

P.P.S. Playing games is fun making them is game changing!
